estoy aburrido...

it's amazing....i'm actually bored! i have an hour to kill before Cru at 9:15pm. there's plenty i could be doing i.e. studying for my theory test tomorrow, washing dishes, doing research for my edpsy project, or read a book. For some reason none of these appeal right now, and i'm not typically a lazy person. haha! anyways, this week has been muy interesante. It started on Monday when i was walking over to wind ensemble after theory. i was talking to Kelly Rumba and wasn't watching where i was going when i fell down the first set of steps right outside the old music building and twisted my right ankle. (have i mentioned that i'm a major klutz before?) yeah, this is the same ankle that i sprained in the eigth grade doing an piroquette on point shoes and my freshman year of highschool doing a spike in v-ball. my ankle hurt a bunch Monday night but i put lots of ice on it and the next morning i was actually able to put weight on it. That also happened to be the morning that we had to swim 500 yards/ten laps and time ourselves. I found it rather difficult kicking with mainly my left leg but my time was still decent. By the end of the day my ankle felt so much better...i was amazed at how fast it healed! Fitness swimming was quite interesting today b/c we had to do push ups and crunches. I've never been good at push ups but this morning i was able to do 16 (man push ups, not the wimpy version!) I'm soooooo glad that tomorrow is Friday b/c that means that we're going to watch the Magic Flute!!! Not too much else to report, except that i really like the flute piece i'm working on now! It's the Widor Suite for flute and piano op. 34. i'm also considering attending a flute workshop this summer...i just need to find one that isn't too far from Laf. preferably Michigan or Illinios. more later...

"In Me"

so this morning as i was getting ready to go to church this song kept running through my head.....it's a wonderful song by Casting Crowns and it reminds me that i can face all issues of life with confidence b/c I do not have to rely on my own abilities but on Christ's amazing power.

If you ask me to leap
Out of my boat on the crashing waves
If you ask me to go
Preach to a lost world that Jesus saves

I'll go but i cannot go alone
Cause I know I'm nothing on my own
But the power of Christ in me makes me strong
Makes me strong

'Cause when I'm weak, You make me strong
When I'm blind, You shine your light on me
'Cause I'll never get by living on my own ability
How refreshing to know You don't need me
How amazing to find that You want me
So I'll stand on Your truth, and I'll fight with Your strength
Until You bring the victory, by the power of Christ in me

If You ask me to run
And carry Your light into foreign land
If You ask me to fight
Deliver Your people from satan's hand

To reach out with Your hands
To learn through Your eyes
To love with the love of a savior
To feel with Your heart
And to think with Your mind
I'd give my last breath for Your glory

Back to School

it was hard coming back at first, but God is showing me that this is His plan at this stage of my life and has given me so much peace and great memories to look back on....i.e. picnic in the Botswin Lobby, dancing the tango with Nicole, Singing It's a Small World After All in Mused 150 like 100 times! oh and of course Euynhe Kim (my sight ear prof) playing an augmented chord and explaining to the class that it sounds as though someone died, whereas a diminished chord sounds like a horrible (she meant Horror) film. I'm really excited b/c this semester in mused 150 we are learning how to play the guitar and recorder! I have a recorder already, but not a guitar, so Cory said i could use his! i also like the fact that it's such a small class, only 8 people.
Since there is no marching band this semester i decided to join the handbell choir at church! Thanks joy, for letting me play the f and g bells, and not the really huge ones! This weekend the wind ensemble is going to Indy to play at the IMEA conference. As much as i enjoy playing the Jenkin's Symphony i am looking forward to getting new music! After the concert Joy and i are going shopping at Circle Center to look for a dress for her recital. Saturday night the Russian National Ballet is coming to Emens to do Sleeping Beauty....all three acts! i love the music, esp. the blue bird in the third act. The Magic Flute is coming up too!!!! Good luck to everyone that's in the opera and pit orchestra!
the weather was so beautiful yesterday! it felt like spring! In fact it was so nice outside that we decided to have a picnic at 5;30pm. By the time we met for dinner the sun was already low on the horizon and it was getting chilly, so we had our picnic inside Botswin lobby instead! At least there were no bugs!
necesito hacer mi tarea para espanol ahora! Hasta luego!

Happy New Year!

I realize that it's already January 6th but I'm still excited about the fact that 2006 just began (or is it begun?) It's comforting to know that God already has the whole year planned out and knows all the grades i'll get and people i'll meet. anyways, this break has been wonderful which makes it so hard to go back, but it is always great to see friends and get back to a somewhat normal routine. I only have 17.5 credits this semester plus no more marching band so hopefully it won't be quite as stressful. My last full day of break, tomorrow, i'm going to watch Tirzah dance in the Nutcracker at the Long Center! I can't wait, although it makes me miss doing ballet a bunch. the plan is to go to church Sunday morning, play the flute for offeratory, and then go back to BSU with Rebecca. Probably my most exciting classes next semester will be fitness swimming at 8am on Tues./thurs., Sp. 301 (conversation), and of course wind ensemble...oh yeah i'm also taking private piano lessons!!! that's about all for now, i'll try to update more later.. right now i'm falling.....ZZZzzzz a...s..l..ee..p! Zzzzzz
