hmmmm...

i wasn't sure what to title this entry. i'm in a very random mood right now, and rather bored actually. today was great fun! After church we had a little fiesta at my house for the Spanish 4 chicas! My wonderful padre made/grilled carne asada and fresh homemade salsa (the real hot stuff), sweet corn, and watermelon. anyways, it was fun to talk to everyone since our last reunion over christmas break. we also had some mock sword fights with the two swords that we bought in Toledo! i think my dad almost had a heart attack... then we (my fam excluding Tirz b/c she's hanging out w/Jennifer who just got back from ballet camp) played "Imagine If" which is a really fun game. It will be hard going back to work again tomorrow, but this week i have two days off!! Wed. (my first day off) i'm planning to go shopping with Nisha as she gets ready to go to Miami. My parents and Nish are leaving for Miami early friday morning and they'll be gone for a week! sooooooo, that means that Tirz and i are home by ourselves... should make for a very interesting week i'm sure!
Tomorrow is our end of the year banquet at work and we have to wear a costume to be admitted. i'm still contemplating what costume i should wear. I know--i'll be a japanese tourist b/c they're hilarious! j/k...
oh yeah, i saw Pink Panther on saturday night. it was rather silly, but i enjoyed watching Nisha cringe while Steve Martin attempted to speak with his french accent. anyways, like i said it's a silly movie but it had its moments. i've never seen the origonal but alli said it was even better.
so now i end my pointless post...
here's a good quote from the Psalms:
"When we obey Him, every path He guides us on is fragrant with His lovingkindness and His truth." Ps. 25:10 TLB

Broadway baby!

i can't wait....tomorrow my fam is spending the entire day in the windy city! although we only live 2 hours away, this will be my first time seeing a broadway in chicago. the plan is to first go window shopping and not spend any money....yeah right! ever since i was little i wanted to visit the american girl place. yeah, i'm nineteen but still young at heart. the main reason we're going to Chicago is to see Wicked! i've heard that it's really good and i love the music!!! The only thing better would be to see the Chicago Symphony!!!!!!
On Friday we're going to celebrate Nisha's 22 b-day (which was actually May 1), by going out to eat at Don Pablos and then go to Indy to see Les Miserables! I can't believe that we're going to see two broadways in one week! it's hard to contain this much excitement!!!!!!
Today was interesting....this morning mom, nisha, and i went blueberry picking at the prelocks. about half an hour later it starting raining really hard, so we had to leave. oh, and did i mention we were almost eaten by bugs! then i went to work at 10:30 but when i arrived they announced that the cove was closed for the day, so i ended up running to the bank and then buying a book shelf for my room, mainly for all the flute/piano/guitar/recorder/piccolo/sax/voice books that i have sitting in piles ALL OVER! i can't stand it anymore! so when i arrived to the furniture store i found some shelves that were the exact size i was looking for. the only problem was, they were available in oak, maple, and birch wood. ahhhh, too many choices! so i called my dad to find out which type of wood was the best....i went with oak in the end just cause it looked the sturdiest. oh, and then i had to choose a stain and a finish. piece of cake, right? there were about three different kinds of stains and finishes were also available with 'gloss', 'semigloss', 'satin', or'matte'. i never knew that choosing a bookshelf was so complicated! well, that's basically my rather uneventful day...however the pina colada was quite good!!! there was a can of pineapple juice sitting in the kitchen so i put it (the juice that is-- not the can) in the blender and added coconut cream, rum (extract), and crushed ice. yay for mocktails! okay....im done i promise!

Pirates 2

Ahoy...finally, the day we have all been waiting for! Dead Man's Chest is now out in theaters!!! I'm going to see it tonight after Michelle's wedding rehearsal dinner! Gosh, it's gonna be so hard to focus at work today! Even though it only got 2 1/2 stars, Nicole saw it and said it was really good...possibly better than the first!

Independence Day!

Yesterday was so much fun! Here is a pic of the LCB playing for the july 4 celebration at Slater Hill. We played a lot of big band music which was fun, but also many patriotic tunes like Star's and Stripes and the 1812 overture.

After the concert we watched the fireworks on the soccer field. Nisha stole my camara and was trying to take pics of the fireworks. it was funny though b/c my camara's slow and so most of the pics just turned out to be a very black sky. however she got a few good ones. it was amusing anyways...
I hope everyone had a grantastic holiday! God bless the USA!
